Activities of the Park Protection Association

A new system of the Park Protection Association began in 2005, and technical support, including the making of flower beds, has been provided in various parks so far. . This has led to more and more active activities in the protection society.

In addition, opportunities for collaboration with nursery schools, elementary and junior high schools, etc. have gradually increased, and park protection associations have also played an important role in connecting the community. .

Here, we will introduce some of the activities actually performed in each park.
In addition to this, various activities are being carried out by each protection society.

4th graders from Seya Elementary School cleaned with members of the protection society. From the protection society, there was a word of appreciation saying, "The fallen leaves are amazing, so I can help you clean it." There are words of encouragement from neighbors and passers-by, and it seems that I was able to do full of motivation. .

Everyone at Mitsukyo Elementary School cleaned up the waterside with three parks, including Mitsukyo Park, with members of the Protection Association. The weather was fine on the day, and some children picked up trash from the river at the waterside of Higashiyama. Even in the midst of winter, everyone was full of energy!

The third graders of Kami Seya Elementary School cleaned with members of the protection society (it was postponed due to rain in July). There are a lot of fallen leaves, and bamboo brooms are very active!
Finally, after hearing the story of the manners of the park from the chairman of protection, a little time to play. I think it was a fun time.

With the idea of the chairman of the park protection, we asked sixth graders of Hara Elementary School to paint the outer wall of the toilet, following last year. Together with the part that was painted last year, it has been reborn as a bright and beautiful toilet!

Continuing from last year, children at Futatsu Bridge Nursery School and members of the protection society planted flowers together in two flower beds in the park. At first, the children touched the scary flower seedlings, but when they planted one, they planted the next seedlings themselves and actively water them.

The fallen leaves have been requested for a long time. Immediately after it was completed, we put a large amount of fallen leaves collected by cleaning, sprinkled water, and started composting.

Using a part of the lawn slope, a flower bed frame was created with members of the protection society, and the flower planting was made with the children of Seya Daini Nursery School next to the park, which had been together before, to create a lively flower bed Was.

Various things such as fallen leaves, acorns, bags of sweets, etc. fell in each park, but the children picked up the planted grass and picked it up hard, so the garbage bags were quickly filled. . Finally, there was a request from the protection society to value the park.

This compost storage area stands out well from the road (?) So it seems to be an appeal to the passers-by. Members of the protection society hope that not only the effective use of fallen leaves, but also that the beetle larva will be able to live in this compost storage area someday.

Making fallen leaves in a park where the remnants of existing forests remain. It was a lot of hard work, such as polishing the soot of the frame plate with a deck brush and hitting a wooden stake, but it was quickly completed by the teamwork of the members of the protection society.

There was a lot of participation from the children's association, and it was a lively event. The children enjoyed the work of baking, polishing, writing the name of the tree, and attaching it to each tree in the park as if they were. Between the work, everyone eats unseasonal roasted potatoes and faces. It seems to have been a good memory of summer vacation.
