Introduction of facilities such as forests and parks

In the morning awakening with the voice of wild birds, encountering a variety of creatures. Introducing facilities such as forests and parks where you can enjoy the rich nature and the charm of the forest.

Yokohama Nature Observation Forest (Yokohama Nature Observation Center)

Many events are also held.

It's a forest. The forest as far as the eye can see. I feel like I'm hiding in the woods. There are grasslands and ponds, so you can feel the life of living creatures. There are 44 hectares, so it may be a good idea to take a day to explore.
In addition, at the Yokohama Nature Observation Center in the forest, a ranger with specialized knowledge (the Wild Bird Society of Japan) is stationed to explain creatures and enjoy many events to enjoy nature. There is an exhibition of the structure of the forest, seasonal creatures, a book corner, and a training room.

・About 25 minutes from JR Ofuna Station, take Kanagawa Chuo Bus "Kanazawa Hakkei Station". → 7-minute walk from "Yokohama Cemetery"
・About 15 minutes from Keikyu Kanazawa Hakkei Station, Kanagawa Chuo Bus bound for Ofuna Station, Kamigo Neopolis and Shodo. → 7-minute walk from "Yokohama Cemetery"
 
In addition, Yokohama Nature Observation Forest is part of the "Yokohama Connected Forest*" area.
※The area around Enkai is a vast green area that forms part of the `` Tama / Miura Hills Group '' that extends from Tama to Miura Peninsula, and is a home for various creatures and a habitat for plants. Is also a valuable property. "Yokohama Connected Forest" is an area that includes a waterside environment that extends around Mt. Enkai as its core area, and includes some areas of Sakae Ward.

Citizen-use facilities for training and accommodation

This is a facility where you can train and stay in the rich nature adjacent to the Yokohama Nature Observation Forest and Kanazawa Zoo.
You can spend a rich time interacting with nature throughout the four seasons.

・From JR Ofuna Station
About 30 minutes to Kanazawa Hakkei Station by Kanagawa Chuo Bus → 7-minute walk from "Mori no Iemae"
・From Keikyu Kanazawa Hakkei Station
About 20 minutes to Kanagawa Chuo Bus "Ofuna Station", "Kamigo Neopolis" and "Shodo". → 7-minute walk from "Mori no Iemae"

Shimin-no-Mori, Iijima

A peaceful landscape and gentle coppice forest

The first Shimin-no-Mori is located in the northwestern part of Sakae Ward. A quiet, warm and cute forest.
There are gentle hills, and there are ridge roads that go while looking at the valley countryside, and a variety of roads that go up and down the hillside.
In addition to the main square centered on "Shirahata no Mori", there is actually a peaceful Sakuragaoka Square where the south is open and the distant scenery and rural scenery are comfortable.
The square is sunny and sunny, so you will want to get rid of it.
The whole forest seems to be smiling. Be sure to take a leisurely walk!

Kamigo Shimin-no-Mori

Mount Fuji is beautiful from the top.

A small forest in the middle of a residential area. Shaped like a plump bowl upside down. There is also a plaza at the top, a road that connects ridges, and a road around the chin.
In spring, you can enjoy plenty of fragrance of plums.

Segami Shimin-no-Mori

A quiet Segami Pond and Deep Forest

A fresh forest with the smell of wood. With the quiet Segami Pond at the bottom of the valley, clear water and rich forests spread out.
All the side water flows into the pond, so it is humid and the air is always refreshing. It is a deep mountain suitable for forest bathing.
In addition to ferns and moss, there are plenty of dandelions, hydrangeas, and autumn leaves, so it is also a feature that you can enjoy it slowly throughout the four seasons.

Ara Izawa Shimin-no-Mori

Beautiful Tando rice fields

It is characterized by a steep cliff that can be seen in the forest. Since it is one of the headwaters of the Hitachi River, clean water is always springing.
The pond restored on the site of the reservoir and the frog pond created after the rice field are all playgrounds for children.
From the observatory of Mina Shiroyama, you can see Mt. Enkai and Minato Mirai 21 and even Mount Fuji on a clear day.

Kajigaya Shimin-no-Mori

A bench where you can take a break after a walk.

This is the fifth Shimin-no-Mori in Sakae Ward, which opened in April 2014.
The forest is quiet so quiet that you don't think the Kamakura Highway passes nearby.
The walking course occasionally cool winds blow through, and there are benches for rest here and there, so it's a good idea to take a walk in the forest on a daily basis.

Hongo Fujiyama Park

Old private house
An old private house designated as a tangible cultural property

A park surrounded by greenery, such as bamboo grove forests, and cedar forests.
There is also a building in the late Edo period and an old private house (former Koiwai residence), which has become a designated cultural property of Yokohama City. The spot where you can see Mount Fuji is also popular.
In the old private house zone, there are plenty of events such as Hina Matsuri, cherry blossom viewing, Dango's festival, moon watching party, harvest festival according to the season. Traditional events have been handed down.

Forest zoo where you can meet the four seasons

A forest zoo where you can meet the four seasons. You can see Indian elephants, black rhinos, koala, okapi, etc. in a lush environment. We also engage in environmental education activities that make use of the surrounding environment rich in nature.
