In evacuation shelter and evacuation centers, "medical rescue squads" provide medical care for mildly ill patients. The medical rescue squad consists of local doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc., and provides patrol or fixed-point medical care.

It is a nursing profession that works as a "medical rescue squad" based on disaster preparedness plan, Yokohama City, together with pre-registered doctors, pharmacists, and city officials in the event of a disaster such as a major earthquake. Activities include emergency medical treatment mainly for mildly ill people at evacuation centers in the city.

A qualified public health nurse, midwife, nurse, or associate nurse who lives or works in Yokohama, who can provide support activities at evacuation shelter (designated elementary and junior high schools) in each ward of Yokohama City in the event of a disaster. (However, in principle, those who are supposed to attend the workplace in the event of a disaster, such as working at a hospital, etc. are excluded.)

Please fill out the registration application form with required items and mail it to Health and Welfare Center Health and Welfare Division, the ward where you wish to register.
