Health promotion affiliates

In cooperation with Nishi Ward Office, the following organizations are engaged in community health promotion activities. I would like to introduce some of the activities.

1. Nishi Ward Dietary Improvement Promotion Member
2. Nishi Ward Food Education Promotion Council
3. Nishi Ward Health Activity Promotion Committee

It is a volunteer group for health promotion through food. Under the slogan "Our health is our hands," we promote health promotion activities through food and exercise in the community. There are about 1,200 people in Yokohama and about 97,000 people nationwide.
Nishi Ward Healthmate celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2024. We are divided into five groups: Fujidana, Nishi Tobe, Asamadai, Sengencho, and Miyagaya.

• Citizen's health promotion spread activities (cooking demonstrations, lectures, etc.)
• Cooking course for men
• Oh, this food education class
• Inhabitant of a ward festival (panel display, vegetable intake challenge)
• Hama Walking Festival (distribution of soup powder)
• Conducting workshops once a month, attending lectures, visiting facilities, etc.

When you attend a training course for improvement promotion such as eating habits held at the ward office, a certificate of completion will be issued and registered as a health mate.
Why don't you learn about health promotion for yourself and your family and become a member of a health mate and participate in community activities?

Contents: Dietary habits, lectures on lifestyle-related diseases, etc.
Costs: About 1,400 yen (text fee)

Established in 2009 with the aim of promoting food education in Nishi Ward, it consists of 29 groups (PDF: 72KB) including nursery schools, kindergartens, elementary and junior high schools, and local volunteer groups in the ward.
We perform food education enlightenment to inhabitants of a ward, information exchange of health promotion.

Neighborhood Association is a "promoting local health promotion activities" commissioned by the mayor upon the recommendation of the Chairman of the Neighborhood Association, and is a volunteer who supports the local community to enjoy health promotion.
In cooperation with the ward office, we carry out health promotion activities such as walking and health checks in the area. .

• Awareness-raising activities on tobacco harm (e.g., passive smoking prevention awareness-raising activities around Yokohama Station)
• Physical Fitness Measurement Meeting
• Support for mothers raising children
• Holding gymnastics classes
