Beware of norovirus

What is norovirus?

It is an infectious disease that spreads through the mouth through fingers and food. It causes vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever. Please note that children and the elderly may become more severe.

How can I prevent it?

The most important thing is to do is "hand washing". Wash your hands frequently after going out, before eating, or after a toilet.

Treatment method for diarrhea and vomiting

●Treatment method for contaminated areas

  1. Wear vinyl gloves, etc. (Do not directly touch filth).
  2. Cover the contaminated area with newspaper or paper towel soaked with 0.1% chlorine bleach so as not to splatter around, and then wipe it off.
  3. Wipe the contaminated floor again using 0.1% chlorine bleach and disinfect.
  4. Paper towels used for processing are double placed in a plastic bag for disposal.

Dispose of garbage in double.

●Disinfection of clothes and tableware

After the following 1 or 2, let's wash separately from other laundry.

  1. Soak in 0.1% chlorine bleach for 30 minutes or more.
  2. Soak in boiling water of 85 °C or more for at least 1 minute.

*When discarding, put it in a plastic bag and dispose of it.

●How to make a disinfectant

It is made using commercially available chlorine bleach (5-6% sodium hypochlorite) and plastic bottle caps. ※1 cap = 5ml

For waste disposal: Contaminated areas such as vomit and diapers (concentration 0.1%)

2L water + 40ml of bleaching (8 caps)

0.1% disinfectant

Other disinfectants: Low-contamination areas such as toilet seats, cooking utensils, toys, doorknobs (concentration: 0.02%)

2L water + 10ml of bleaching agent (2 cups)

0.02 percent disinfectant

  • Please be careful not to drink it accidentally.
  • Let's stop making it.
  • If it gets on your skin, wash it off with water immediately.
  • Metals may rust, so leave it for a while after disinfection, then drain with water or wipe it off.

What should I do if a group develops in a place where I live in a group, such as a nursery school or nursing care facility?
