[Yokohama City] Response based on the risk of COVID-19 infection at evacuation sites and evacuation centers in the event of a disaster

Last Updated December 11, 2023

As the new coronavirus continues to spread, evacuation sites, shelters in the event of a typhoon or major earthquake, are likely to meet the three conditions of "sealing, dense, and close" in the event of a typhoon or a major earthquake.
In this situation, in Motoichi, in the event of a disaster, we will increase the number of evacuation shelters and evacuation sites, and strive to prevent virus infection, such as ventilation, hand washing, thorough cough etiquette, and securing space to live. I will continue.
Citizens are encouraged to cooperate to reduce the risk of new coronavirus infection, with the highest priority given to protecting themselves from disasters.

Preparation in advance

To reduce the risk of infection

・If you can secure your safety at home in the event of a disaster, please try to evacuate at home to prevent the infection of the new coronavirus. Prepare stockpiles such as food and toilet packs in preparation for evacuation at home.
・Consider evacuation to relatives and friends' homes as well as the evacuation sites evacuation centers established by the government.
・Please include masks, thermometer, etc. in the emergency list you bring when evacuating to evacuation sites / evacuation center.

For information on evacuation shelters and evacuation sites, see Designated Emergency evacuation sites and Designated Evacuation Centers
Refer to Disaster Prevention Yokohama (P10) for the preparation of regular stockpiles and emergency listings.
