We invited Ethiopia to Mayor's Residence to explain the significance of GREEN × EXPO 2027 and exchanged views on the future good relationship between Ethiopia and Yokohama.
In August 2025, the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) will be held in Yokohama. As a host city, I am delighted to welcome everyone from African countries, including the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, to Yokohama. Going forward, we will continue to deepen our cooperation with people from African countries as "the closest city to Africa."
