Mr. City Counsil Shimizu visited the Embassy of Ukraine and met with Mr. Sergiy Corsinski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Japan. On behalf of Yokohama City, I would like to express my sympathy to the Ukrainian people, as well as the contribution of donation of 20 million yen from Yokohama City, as well as the situation of receiving donations from many citizens for donations held at City Halls, etc. (For details on the response of the city, please see the page on the response to the situation in Ukraine.)
The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the support of Yokohama City, and expressed his expectations and requests for support for the reconstruction of Odessa City and for the long-term partnership between Yokohama and Odessa.
Going forward, Yokohama will continue to provide as much support as possible for Ukraine, including its sister city Odessa.
