The Tanabe family is an old family in Shimoda-cho, Kohoku-ku, and according to the family tradition, it was a descendant of Takeshi Mikawa, and the first was allowed to support five stones of the Edo Shogunate (Tenryo) and a surname sword, and was entrusted with the management of this area. Says.
In addition to thatched (copper-covered) main house and storehouse, there are traces of air raid shelters and old wells, and bamboo bushes and coppice forests that convey the satoyama atmosphere around the main house, and are valuable together with the surrounding green space It forms a historical landscape.
Opened in 2014 as the "Hiyoshi no Mori Garden Museum" in 2014, modern sculptures and production on the theme of "agriculture" by sculptor Mitsuaki Tanabe in a historical landscape where you can feel the seasonal atmosphere. The preservation and utilization of green spaces and cultural heritage are being actively carried out, such as the collection of ethnic materials and other materials that have had a significant impact on the project.
