About food-related business licenses

When conducting food-related business, a business license is required in many industries, including restaurants. In addition, even if it is not subject to a business license, a notification is required depending on the food handled. Please contact us in advance.

Sales of fixed stores (restaurants, etc.)

Permission is required to open a restaurant. In addition, each facility has its own standards depending on the type of business, so please consult with the Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division counter in advance.

・In various manufacturing industries, the manufacturing process schedule (free format)

・If the applicant is an individual, a public certificate (driver's license, etc.) that can confirm the Address, name and date of birth.
・Documents proving the qualification of a food hygiene officer

・Restaurant business 18,000 yen
・Confectionery manufacture 16,000 yen, etc.

Kitchen car sales

If you obtain a business license by car at one of the public health centers in Kanagawa Prefecture after June 1, 2021, you will be allowed to operate in other local governments in Kanagawa Prefecture.

From June 1, 2021, the automobile sales system has changed. After confirming the link below, please file at the relevant public health center in the prefecture.

Precautions for coming to the agency for vehicle surveys

・I would like to make a reservation in advance.
・Make sure that water comes out of the faucet. Please fix the tank and add an appropriate amount of water.
・Please prepare the power supply by yourself. There is no power supply in the ward office parking lot.

Sales of food stalls and containers (temporary operations)

If you are operating at a temporary store such as stalls and containers, along with temporary events, you may need to obtain a business license.
Extraordinary events are the following events held by the implementing entity (national, local governments, corporations or organizations) for a certain purpose, and are temporary events that do not exceed about one month. Extraordinary events do not include events held over a period of several months to the whole year or undetermined periods.

Organizers of an extraordinary event should submit an “Overview registration form” to Health Sanitation Division Health and Welfare Center, which is responsible for the venue of the event at least two weeks before the event is held.

Business report (industry business not subject to business license)

In addition to the “permitted industries (32 industries)” under the Food Sanitation Law, there are industries that need to be notified when operating.
Please refer to the "Notification of Food Business" on the page of the Medical Care Bureau Food Sanitation Division for industries, guides, styles, etc. that require notification.
We can file at window or system (outside site) such as food hygiene application.

What you need

Provision of food at local events

If you are a festival or event that falls under any of the following and provide food at an event that meets the requirements stipulated in the guidelines, please submit an "event holding notification".

<Eligible local events>
○Neighborhood Associations, Neighborhood Association, shopping streets, etc.
○Citizen's festival sponsored or co-sponsored by the city
○Festivals such as shrines and Buddhist temples
○Agricultural festivals, industrial festivals, etc. organized by various organizations such as agricultural cooperatives and fishery cooperatives
○Various events held by welfare groups
○Corporate festivals held by companies to local residents, etc. (except when they are held in the form of events as part of the company's original business activities)
○School festivals, athletic meet, bazaars, etc. hosted by schools (including nursery schools and kindergartens)

<Number of days>
The same organizer or similar form must not be held more than five times a year. In addition, the number of days held per time must not exceed approximately 5 days.

<Place of holding>
It must be held in the activity area of the residents' organization that hosts the event and the surrounding area.

Please refer to "Notification of Local Events (festivals, Events, etc.)" for foods, facilities, compliance items, and styles of food handling workers.
If you have a plan to provide food, please consult with Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division and submit an "event notice" at least two weeks before the event.

What you need

・Notification of Events
・Layout of stores (the layout of major facilities such as hand washing in the floor plan of the venue)
・Map of location near the location (fill in guidance targets, etc.)
・Documents that can provide an overview, such as flyers, pamphlets, and implementation plans

Changes in Business Permits and Notifications

If there is a change in the business license application or notification items, please submit a change notification at the counter.
(* Excluding changes in business operators)
The style can be obtained from the notification of change in the business license application matter or business notification items (outside site).
In addition, when you apply for or report a business license using the national system, please apply from the system (outside site) for food hygiene application.

What you need

・Notification of changes to business license application and business notification

  • In the case of a change in the structure and equipment of the facility, please attach a drawing showing the structure and facilities of the facility after the change.
  • In the case of a change in the applicant's Address or name, please present Address and a public certificate (resident certificate, driver's license, health insurance card, etc.). (Only if the applicant is an individual)
  • In the case of a change in the food hygiene manager, please present a document certifying the qualification of the food hygiene manager (such as a license for cooks, a certificate of completion of the food hygiene manager training course, etc.).
  • If there is any change in the information on the business license, please attach the currently issued business license.

Reissuance of business license

If you lose or lose your business license, please apply for a reissue at the counter immediately.
The style can be obtained from the application (outside site) for food business license reissue.
The fee is free. It will be reissued on the spot.

・Application for Re-issuance of Business Permit
・Operating permit (in case of damage)
・Items that prove to be a person involved in the facility (business card, name tag, etc.)

Notification of business closure

We can file at window, mail or Yokohama-shi electronic application, report system (outside site).
The style can be obtained from the notification of the closure of food-related business (outside site).
In addition, when you apply for or report a business license using the national system, please apply from the system (outside site) for food hygiene application.

・Notification of business closure
・Business license (discard it by yourself if you apply online)
