Food-related business licenses, etc.

When conducting food-related business, a business license is required in many industries, including restaurants. In addition, even if you are not eligible for a business license, you need to submit a report depending on the food you handle. Please contact us in advance.

Sales of fixed stores (restaurants, etc.)

Permission is required to operate restaurants, etc. In addition, there are standards for each facility depending on the type of business, so please bring your drawings to the Health Sanitation Division office in Health and Welfare Center in advance and consult us.
For guidance and styles, please refer to the “Application for Food Business Permit” section of the Medical Care Bureau Food Sanitation Division page.

Sales of kitchen cars

If you obtain a business license by car at any public health center in Kanagawa Prefecture after June 1, 2021, other local governments in Kanagawa Prefecture will also be allowed to operate.

From June 1, 2021, the system of automobile sales has changed. After confirming the following link, please file at applicable public health center in the prefecture.

Precautions for visiting the Agency for vehicle surveys

・Please make a reservation in advance.
・Make sure that water comes out of the faucet. Please fix the tank and add an appropriate amount of water.
・Please prepare your own power supply. There is no power supply at the ward office parking lot.

Sales of food stalls, containers, etc. (temporary sales)

In addition to temporary events, if you operate at temporary stores such as stalls and containers, you may need to obtain a business license.
Extraordinary events are events that are exemplified below by the implementing entity (national, local government, corporation or organization) for a certain purpose, and the holding period does not generally exceed about one month. Refers to an event that is. Extraordinary events do not include events that exceed the temporary level, extending from several months to the whole year, or during an undefined period.

In addition, organizers of temporary events should submit an “Overview registration form” to Health Sanitation Division Health and Welfare Center, which is responsible for the event at least two weeks prior to the event.

Notification of business (industry not subject to business license)

In addition to the "licensed industries required (32 industries)" under the Food Sanitation Law, there are industries that require notification when operating.
For industries, guides, styles, etc. that require notification, please refer to the “Notification of Food Sales” column on the page of the Medical Care Bureau Food Sanitation Division.
We can file at window or food hygiene application system (outside site).

Provision of food at local events

If you are a festival or event that falls under any of the following and provide food at an event that meets the requirements stipulated in the guidelines for the number of days and locations of the event, please submit an "Event Holding Notification".

<Eligible regional events>
○Inhabitants' festivals, athletic meet and summer festivals organized by residents' organizations such as Neighborhood Associations, Neighborhood Association and shopping streets, etc.
○Citizen's festival which is sponsored or co-sponsored by the city
○Festivals of shrines, temples, etc.
○Agricultural festivals, industrial festivals, etc. organized by various organizations such as agricultural cooperatives and fishery cooperatives
○Various events held by welfare organizations
○Corporate festivals held by companies to local residents, etc. (except when they are held in the form of events as part of the company's original business activities)
○School festivals, athletic meet, bazaars, etc. hosted by schools (including nursery schools and kindergartens)

<Number of days>
The same organizer or the same form of events should not be held approximately five times a year. In addition, the number of days held per event must not exceed approximately 5 days.

<Location>
It must be held in the activity area of the residents' organization that hosts the event and the surrounding area.

Please refer to "Notification of Local Events (festivals, events, etc.)" for food, equipment, compliance items and styles of food handlers that can be provided.
If you have plans to provide food, please consult with Health and Welfare Center Health Sanitation Division and submit a “Notice of Event” at least two weeks before the event.

・Map near the location (fill in information targets, etc.)
・Documents that can provide an overview of flyers, pamphlets, implementation plans, etc.

Changes in business licenses and notification items

If there is a change in the business license application / notification, please submit a notification of change at the counter.
(*Excluding changes in business operators)
The style can be obtained from the notification (outside site) of changes in business license application items or business notification items.
In addition, please file from system (outside site) such as food hygiene application when you apply for business license in country system.

What I need

・Notification of change in business license application and business notification items

  • In the case of a change in the structure of the facility and the equipment, please attach a drawing showing the structure and equipment of the facility after the change.
  • Address, if you change your name, please present Address, a public certificate (resident certificate, driver's license, health insurance card, etc.) to confirm your name. (Only if the applicant is an individual)
  • In the case of a change in the food hygiene manager, please present a document certifying the qualification of the food hygiene manager (license of cook, certificate of completion of the food hygiene manager training course, etc.).
  • If there is any change in the information on the business license, please attach the business license currently issued.

Reissue of business license

If you have lost or damaged your business license, please apply for a reissue at the counter immediately.
The style can be obtained from the application for a food business license reissue (outside site).
The fee is free. We will re-issue it on the spot.

Notification of closing of business

We can file at window, mail or Yokohama-shi electronic application, report system (outside site).
The style can be obtained from the notification of the closure of food-related business (outside site).
In addition, please file from system (outside site) such as food hygiene application when you apply for business license in country system.
