Awareness-raising activities

The Kanazawa Ward Bright Election Promotion Council is working with the goal of raising awareness of politics and elections, and to hold bright and beautiful elections without fraud.

We display election enlightenment booth in cultural festivals of high school, university in ward and inhabitant of a ward festival and carry out mock election (character election).
In mock elections, children who are future voters also participate in the mock elections and have an election experience.

This is a project to provide opportunities for future voters and young people, such as elementary, junior high and high school students, to think about political and election issues through on-site classes and lectures.
Kanazawa Ward gives lectures at Municipal Junior High School in the ward to raise awareness of social participation among junior high school students and promote their participation in future politics and elections.

Kanazawa Ward election mascot "Ikoara"

• The Kanazawa Ward Bright Election Promotion Council solicited illustrations and names of mascots from residents in order to establish the Kanazawa Ward Election Mascot.
• As a result, a total of 92 entries were submitted, and after strict screening, five excellent works were selected. Then, a popular vote was held at each election enlightenment event held in the fall of 2008, and "Ikoara" was selected as the best work!
• "Ikoara" is a work by Yumi Kato, who lives in the city, designed with the image of Kanazawa Ward blessed with nature. The top of the head represents the beautiful ocean waves of Kanazawa Ward, and the wings-shaped ears represent the image of flapping toward a bright future.
• "Ikoara" is playing an active part in various election enlightenment events. Nice to meet you!
