Development of Citizens' Cultural Center in Kanazawa Ward

　Yokohama City is developing a cultural center in Kanazawa Ward so that residents of the city can come into contact with culture and arts and actively engage in cultural and artistic activities in a wide range of fields.

We have compiled basic design of buildings and other facilities, and are proceeding with implementation design (April 2024).

　By March 2024, the basic design of buildings, etc. has been compiled, and the implementation design (detailed design for maintaining buildings, etc.) is currently underway.

[Characteristics of maintenance]

•We will realize the concept of "creating and disseminating culture and art that is unique to Kanazawa Ward, open to the town," and develop facilities that are easy to use for users to use.
•Considering that a single building will be developed as a inhabitant of a ward cultural center, we will carry out design and construction in consideration of the function and composition of the entire facility.
•The aim is to further enhance cultural and artistic activities in Kanazawa Ward by cooperating with Kanazawa and public hall, located in the center of Kanazawa Ward.

Designers of buildings, etc. has been decided (September 2023)

　About design work consignment with Kanazawa inhabitant of a ward Cultural Center (tentative name) new construction, designer was decided after open call for participants type simple proposal. For more information, please visit the Housing and Architecture Bureau website.

Basic Concept of Cultural Center in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama City (established in January 2023)

　Based on the opinions received from citizens and the report received from the "Citizens' Cultural Center Basic Design Exploratory Committee in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama City", we devised a basic design.
　We arrange figure and facility function, composition of inhabitant of a ward Cultural Center in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama-shi and summarize thing that should be considered for future facility maintenance.

　In fiscal 2022, the functions necessary for cultural facilities will be discussed at the "Inhabitants of the City Cultural Center Basic Design Exploratory Committee in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama City (affiliated organization of the mayor)" to discuss the functions necessary for cultural facilities and give opinions to Yokohama City (Report). After that, we will formulate a "Basic Concept" based on the report.

We start examination for development of "inhabitant of a ward Cultural Center basics design in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama-shi".

　In Yokohama City, the municipal land in the commercial area in front of Kanazawa Hakkei Station is used as a candidate site so that inhabitants of the ward can come into contact with cultural arts and actively engage in cultural and artistic activities in a wide range of fields. We are examining for the maintenance of the Cultural Center.
　In fiscal 2022, the Citizens' Cultural Center Basic Design Review Committee in Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama City, the functions necessary for cultural facilities will be discussed and opinions to Yokohama City (report). After that, we will formulate a "Basic Concept" based on the report.
　We issue "Kanazawa Ward inhabitant of a ward Cultural Center News (ward news)" and will tell inhabitants of a ward through publication on web pages.

　On September 11, Reiwa (2020), the 14th Union Neighborhood Associations in Kanazawa Ward, members of the Prefectural Council of Kanazawa Ward, and the nonprofit organization Yokohama Kanazawa Cultural Association, submitted a request for "Request for the Development of Citizens' Cultural Centers in Kanazawa Ward."
