As the population ages year by year, the number of elderly people with dementia continues to increase, and the number of elderly people with dementia in Yokohama is expected to reach 200,000 by 2025, when the baby boomers will be 75 years or older.
Kanagawa Ward aims to be a community development where people with dementia and their families can shop with peace of mind, and to increase the number of shops and offices where people with dementia and their families can shop with peace of mind.

What is the "Dementia Elderly Watching Cooperation Shop"?

Kanagawa Ward recognizes shops and offices with at least one employee who attended the Dementia Supporter Training Course (accredited by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) to learn the correct knowledge and specific responses to dementia.
If you have any requests for a course, please contact your local community care plaza / Regional Comprehensive Support Center or the ward office Elderly and Disabled Support Division.
