Opening of evacuation sites when a typhoon approaches
Based on the Boso Peninsula Typhoon (Typhoon No. 15) and the East Japan Typhoon (Typhoon No. 15) in fiscal 2019, we have established a basic policy for openingevacuation sites inKanagawa Ward when a typhoon approaches.

Basic Policy on Establishment of evacuation sites
In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, those living in the inundation area should consider evacuation outside of evacuation sites, such as evacuating to relatives' homes before the typhoon approaches. In addition, when evacuating to the evacuation sites established by the ward office, please take necessary measures against infectious diseases such as bringing a mask.
If you are not living in the inundation area, please evacuate indoors or vertically at home.
In addition, about evacuation sites established by ward office, we establish evacuation sites in three patterns and operate by ward staff.

Pattern 3: When a typhoon is expected to approach, but does not land in Yokohama City or has little impact
evacuation sites will not be opened in advance. However, evacuation sites will be opened according to conditions such as rising water levels in rivers.
Opening hours of evacuation sites
We plan to open evacuation sites based on 12 hours before the typhoon is expected to land in Yokohama. However, if 12 hours before the night or early in the morning, evacuation sites will be opened from 17:00 the previous day.

Supplies and food in evacuation sites
In principle, supplies and food in evacuation sites should be brought to evacuees.
Choose what you need based on your family structure.
In addition, masks, thermometers, slippers, etc. are important for the prevention of COVID-19 infection.
Evacuation by car
When evacuating from home to evacuation sites, please evacuate on foot while considering safety.
It is possible to pick up people who have difficulty evacuating on their own by car. (However, parking is prohibited in principle, so please use nearby coin parking etc.)

If you wish to evacuate your pet, please consult with the following person in charge before the typhoon approaches.
