Flower of ward

The flower of Izumi Ward is "Ayame". As one of the 5th anniversary commemorative projects of the constituency system, Ayame was enacted in 1992 based on the image of water and green in Izumi Ward.
The expression of the flower "Ayame" in the ward refers to all the iris family iris, such as hanashobu, iris and oysters.
Generally, irises are said to be in full bloom around May and Hanashobu around June.
