The Izumi Ward Agricultural Cheering Squad is a volunteer group formed mainly by the Izumi Ward people to support farming in Izumi Ward and other farmers who are suffering from aging and lack of workers. Cheering members from their 20s to 80s are working energetically while interacting with farmers.

Activities

  • Weeding of farmland, clearing after harvest
  • Seeding of vegetables, planting of seedlings, thinning, harvesting, etc.
  • Planting of eggplants, tomatoes, etc., pillars, pruning, etc.
  • Pruning fruit trees, picking buds and fruits, harvesting, etc.

Members gather and work with farmers who have been asked for assistance. The work varies depending on the season and farmers.
As we help with the guidance of farmers, even those who do not have agricultural experience or skills can participate.
In addition, we plan and conduct inspection workshops and workshops to deepen the knowledge of members.
