The Izumi Ward Agricultural Support Corps is a volunteer organization formed mainly by the people of Izumi Ward, with the aim of providing support for farming to farmers such as Izumi Ward, who are suffering from aging and shortage of workers. Cheering members from their 20s to 80s are active while interacting with the farmers.

Activities

  • Weeding of farmland, clearing up after harvest
  • Seeding of vegetables, planting and thinning of seedlings, harvesting, etc.
  • Planting of eggplants and tomatoes, etc., pillars, pruning (sentei), etc
  • Pruning of fruit trees, picking buds and fruits, harvesting, etc.

Members gather and work at farmers who have requested support farming. The work varies depending on the season and the farmer.
People who do not have agricultural experience or skills can participate because they are helping with the guidance of farmers.
In addition, we plan and carry out inspection workshops and workshops to deepen the knowledge of the members.
