What is Yokohama City Citizenship Insurance?
Yokohama City pays insurance premiums in advance and contracts with insurance companies to operate so that citizens can perform volunteer activities with peace of mind.
In the unlikely event that an accident occurs, the city and the insurance company will report the specific volunteer activities and the status of the accident in writing, and the city and the insurance company will determine if the activities and accidents meet the requirements of social movement insurance. Judge.
What are volunteer activities covered by insurance?
- These activities are carried out by voluntary groups and individuals, and the Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations, a local community organization.
- With no compensation
- Continuously and systematically
- It has public interest.
Type of insurance and coverage
１．Liability insurance
In the event that the victim is required for damages due to injury to another person or damage someone else's property due to negligence of the volunteer activist during volunteer activities, and the victim is liable for legal liability. Insurance money paid. Payment will be made for the portion exceeding the deductible amount (self-pay) exceeding 5,000 yen.

２．Accident insurance
This is an insurance claim paid if a volunteer worker is killed or injured due to a sudden and accidental outpatient accident that occurred during volunteer activities.

Procedures in the event of an accident
- Contacting the ward office
If an accident occurs, please contact the ward office General Affairs Division General Affairs Section (telephone 750-2312) of the ward office where you live or work is located within 30 days. I would like to explain how to do it.
The main items to be contacted are (1) the name of the activist, Address, contact information, (2) volunteer activities, (3) date and time and place of the accident, (4) accident situation, (5) injury degree (part, symptoms). - Submission of documents such as volunteer activity accident report
We hand application document "volunteer activity accident report" from ward office. Fill out the required items, attach a document (*) that confirms the contents of the volunteer activities, and submit it to the ward office General Affairs Division General Affairs Section. In order to ensure objectivity of the accident, the volunteer activity accident report should include the name and Address of a third party other than a family member who can prove the accident.
These documents must be submitted within 14 days from the date of receipt of the volunteer activity accident report.

(１) Group rules, (2) roster with the name of the activist, (3) business plan, schedule table, (4) flyer of event, (5) (in the case of an accident when returning and returning to the activity place) Map that shows the route
When city admits that it is accident during activity targeted for Yokohama-shi social movement insurance, we send necessary documents for claim of insurance money from insurance company.
After confirming the contents of the submitted documents, if insurance is applied, the insurance company will pay the insurance money.
