Symbol of ward

Image of Hodogaya Ward symbol mark

In 1977, it was established by general open call for participants to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the constituency system.
Under the theme of people and the environment, we hope for the future development of Hodogaya Ward, a livable city. Circles are combined for the purpose of peaceful development, and the triangle shapes the person who aims for the ideal. The crescent moon formed by the gradation of the circle represents further development potential.

Flowers in the ward, birds of the ward

In 1989, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the municipal administration and the 130th anniversary of the opening of the port, flowers and birds in the ward were enacted. In selecting flowers and birds suitable for Hodogaya Ward, which is fragrant in culture and is growing toward the 21st century, we recruited from residents, working, and attending school in the ward, and received 63 kinds of flowers and 46 kinds of birds . As a result of holding a selection committee and examining these, the flowers in the ward were determined to be "violet" and the birds in the ward were decided as "kall duck".
The mascot mark of "Flowers and Sumire of the Ward" and "Karugamo Carls" were established in 1990 to nurture local solidarity, deepen friendship with Hodogaya, and enhance the image of the ward.

Tree in the ward

In 2007, Hodogaya Ward established a "ward tree" by inhabitant of a ward as one of the projects commemorating the 80th anniversary of the constituency system.
As a result of having selected one of the candidates (three Takagi and 5 species of mid-shrub) selected by the Hodogaya Ward Ward Tree Selection Committee, two types of Hana peaches, which are easy to grow at home, are now Hodogaya Ward trees.
