Emblem of ward

Image of the Hodogaya Ward symbol mark

In 1977, it was established by general open call for participants to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the constituency system.
We hope for the future development of a "living Hodogaya Ward" with the theme of people and the environment. The circle is combined in the sense of peaceful development, and the triangle forms a person who aims for ideals. The crescent moon created by the gradation of the circle represents further development.

Flowers in the ward, birds in the ward

In 1989, flowers and birds of the ward were enacted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of municipal administration and the 130th anniversary of the opening of the port. . In selecting flowers and birds suitable for the Hodogaya Ward, which has a fragrance of culture and is growing toward the 21st century, we recruited from residents living, working, and studying in the city, and there were 63 types of flowers and 46 types of birds. . As a result of holding a selection committee and examining these, the flowers of the ward were determined to be "violet" and the birds of the ward were determined to be "cal duck".
The mascot marks of "Flowers and Violets of the City" and "Calgamo Carls" were established in 1990 to foster regional solidarity, deepen familiarity with Hodogaya, and enhance the image of the city.

Trees in the ward

In 2007, as one of the projects commemorating the 80th anniversary of the constituency system, Hodogaya Ward established a ward tree by residents' votes.
As a result of selecting one of the candidates for the ward tree (three Takagi and five middle shrubs) selected by the Hodogaya Ward Tree Selection Committee, we decided to use two types of Hodogaya Ward trees: Shinoki, a symbol of the region, and Hana Momomo, which is easy to grow at home.
