① Hoshikawa Station

At the beginning, it was called "Kitadorigaya Station", and the station building was said to be the most modern building on the Kaminaka Line (old Sotetsu Line). At present, public facilities such as ward offices are concentrated, and railway lines have been elevated in 2018, and effective use of space under the overpass is being considered, and the appearance of the town is about to change significantly.

② Katabira River

In the Meiji era, it was used for washing scarf printing, and in the 1930s, it was used for transporting goods to Yokohama Port in the 1930s. A waterfront plaza has been developed near Hoshikawa Station due to river improvement, making it a space that is familiar to residents of the city.

③ Shinmeisha

This land was donated as a territory of Ise Grand Shrine and was called Hariya Mikuriya. Then, Shinmeisha was erected as its guardian. It is said that the place name "Dogaya" was born from Hariya.

④ Honpukuji Matsubara Shopping Street

Known as "Hama no Ameyoko".
It was crowded as a post town during the Edo period, but at the end of the Meiji era, it became a shopping place for workers working in factories.
Nearly 100 private shops, such as food and clothing, are lined up, and year-end sales are one of Hodogaya's specialties.

⑤ Tennocho Station

It is now the confluence of Igawa and Katabira River, and it was an area where rivers frequently flooded during the Edo period. River rehabilitation was carried out around 1964, and Tennocho Station Park was maintained on the reclaimed site.
The YBP entrance ticket gate opened in May 2021, and access to Yokohama Business Park has improved.

⑥ Former Tokaido ~ Hodogaya-juku ~

Born when the inn station system was established on Tokaido in Keicho 6 (1601). About 33 km from Edo, this is the fourth post town following Shinagawa, Kawasaki and Kanagawa. Within the ward, there are the gates of Honjin ruins reminiscent of those days, and Gontazaka, which was said to be "the first difficult place on the old Tokaido". The car stop with a design inspired by a samurai reminds you of a daimyo procession of a part-time shift.

⑦ Yokohama Business Park

It was built on the site of Nippon Glass, one of the largest bottle-making factory in Japan in the early Showa era. The scenery that was an industrial area turned into a modern office district. It is also often used as a shooting location for dramas and movies.

⑧ Beer slope

Around 1906, Dai-Nippon Beer Company manufactured beer using Shimizu, which springs nearby. It was named "Beerzaka" because it was a slope leading to this Shimizu.

⑨ Hodogaya public hall, Hodogaya Library

It was opened in 1982 as a combined facility of public hall and the library. In addition to book lending, the library holds events such as story-telling of picture books and work experience. public hall has a rakugo set and a grand piano that is used in a wide range of applications.

⑩ Mailer Elementary School

After mergers and relocation integration from the Meiji era, it was relocated to its current land in 1978. The only planetarium is set up in the city public elementary school. In 2020, we celebrated the 110th anniversary of our founding.

⑪ Kawabe Park

Located along the Katabira River, you can go down from the park to the riverbank. In addition to two large and small pools, the park has playground equipment such as tube-shaped slides, so it is a park where you can play regardless of the season.

⑫ Waterway

After the opening of the port, Yokohama was expanded due to reclamation, so it was not blessed with good water, and some merchants were selling water. To overcome this situation, a modern water supply was developed by a British Palmer in 1887, and the water supply was completed as a headrace.
