Projects that make use of local history in the future

We hold various lectures and lectures every year to provide an opportunity to experience the local history and culture. (Organized by the Aoba Ward Local History Association) The event is held irregularly, so please check this website and the public relations Yokohama Aoba Ward version.

Courses conducted in FY2021

The first "Yayoi period in Yokohama (Tsuzuki)" series of Ayumi Aoba for the first time when learning and walking

Next to the Jomon period of hunting and gathering, the Yayoi period, when full-scale farming (paddy rice cultivation) begins.
Why don't you learn about society and people's lives at that time and walk around historic sites?
It is recommended not only for those who want to learn about the history of the region, but also for those who want to know more.

Date and time: From 10:00 am to 12:00 am on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 (reception: from 9:30 am)
Location: Yokohama City History Museum Training Room (after the course, Otsuka Ruins and Toshikatsudo Ruins)

[Continuous History Course] Ayumi History Study Course of Aoba Seed in Geographical Magazine 2021 ※The application has been closed.

This year marks the sixth year of this course, where students can learn about the history of Aoba Ward and its surroundings in two parts: classroom lectures and exploration.
Let's learn together, have fun, and tell the history of the local area to the future!
※In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are recruiting with fewer capacity than usual.

Schedule: From Friday, July 9, 2021 to Friday, December 10, 2021
Capacity: 20 people (lottery when there are many applications)

Panel exhibition and related public lecture "Edo period trip-Ise Mairi Dochuki-" in Aoba area

You can explore the lives and history of the people of the land from the world of ancient documents. If you read the Dochuki, you can see that the original form of the Edo period trip was already completed, such as Ise Sangu Hosomi Daizen and Ise Sangu Famous Zoukai, a guide book for guidance.
In addition to the distance between the inn stations, the means of crossing the river, the rent, etc., the highlights and specialties such as historic sites on the trip were introduced in the Dochuki, and it would have inspired you to travel.

Based on archeological excavations, we will hold a public lecture on the ancient aspects of Yokohama.
