We increased book (D Books) about dementia in inhabitant of a ward use facility! (August, 2024)
In Aoba Ward, in addition to libraries, books are also collected and rented at community houses and district centers.
Along with the “Dementia Month (World Alzheimer Month)” in September, 16 inhabitant-use facilities (community houses, district centers, community care plazas) were selected with reference to the list created by the Yamauchi Library, and a total of 106 new Dementia-related books are distributed.

Some facilities have set up a “D Books” corner. In addition, even after the corner is set up, books are browsed and rented at each facility.

What is "D Books"?
D is an acronym for Dementia, which means dementia. D-Books is an initiative to create a corner where books on dementia, such as books written by people with dementia and specialized books on symptoms, and to spread the correct understanding of dementia to the community.

Aoba Ward Reading Facility Guide "A place where you can meet books"
In addition to the Yamauchi Library, there are 24 library rental facilities in Aoba Ward, including district centers, community houses and citizen libraries. Therefore, the ward office and Yamauchi Library collaborated with each facility to create a "Aoba Ward Reading Facility Guide". Please use the Aoba Ward Reading Facility Guide to visit nearby facilities.
