Bright Election Promotion Council

Elections in which election crimes such as acquisitions and offerings, and distorted elections due to personality-in-law, elections are held fairly and properly, and voters' intentions are correctly reflected in politics are called "bright elections." Ikot-chan
In 1988, a mascot was produced to make the election more friendly, and nicknames appropriate for this was widely recruited from citizens.
As a result, about 2,000 entries were received, and "Ikot-chan" was selected as a nickname.
The origin of the name comes from "Go to the election."
"Ikot-chan" is a mascot of election and democracy, modeled on a lighthouse and illuminates the tomorrow of the port town, Yokohama. As the election approaches, they will appear everywhere in the city and call for voting!
Icott Jr.
Like Ikot-chan, I'm working hard as a mascot of the Yokohama Election Commission Icott Jr. (Junior).
It is also active in educational items such as stuffed animals and tissues.

Maid
"Election Meisukun" was born in April 2000 as an image character of a bright election.
Meisui-kun has a ballot box motif, and the two vertical lines on the head are inserted in a ballot paper insert. It represents the mouth.
And there are feathers on the back to the realization of bright elections.
The name "Meisui" quotes "Ming" and "Sui" of the "Bright Election Promotion Campaign".

On Friday, November 3, 2023, we exhibited Meishokyo booth at inhabitant of a ward festival held at Higashitotsuka Elementary School!
We carried out enlightenment activities to raise interest in elections, such as character popularity voting and distribution of educational goods.
On the day of the event, a wide range of generations, from children to the elderly, came and it was a very lively!
We make enlightenment videos and exhibit election booths at local university festivals. For a wide range of generations, including young people, we will carry out a business that can feel the election close.

On Saturday, November 4, 2023, we exhibited an election awareness booth at the university festival of Shonan Medical University, which has a campus in Totsuka Ward.
