Bright Election Promotion Council

Elections that eliminate election crimes such as acquisitions and offerings, and distorted elections due to personality-in-laws, etc., are conducted fairly and appropriately, and voters' intentions are correctly reflected in politics are called "bright elections." The Bright Election Promotion Council is a private organization established with the aim of raising the political awareness of citizens, promoting various elections so that they can be held brightly and correctly, and contributing to the development of democracy. It is installed in municipalities and municipalities.

We are conducting activities with the goal of achieving this goal.
Each Election Commission strives to realize a bright election in cooperation with this bright election promotion council.
The Totsuka Ward Bright Election Promotion Council consists of promotion committee members recommended by various organizations in Totsuka Ward and promotion members recommended by Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations.

Ikot-chan
In 1988, a mascot was created to make the election more familiar, and nicknames suitable for this were widely recruited from citizens. .
As a result, about 2,000 entries were received, and "Ikot-chan" was selected as a nickname.
The origin of the name comes from "Gokkoto" for elections.
"Ikot-chan" is a mascot of elections and democracy that brightly illuminates tomorrow in the port town of Yokohama, modeled on a lighthouse. As the election approaches, it appears everywhere in the city and calls for voting!
Icot Jr.
Like Ikot, I'm working hard as a mascot of the Yokohama City Election Commission. "Ikot Jr. (Junior)"
It is also active in educational materials such as stuffed animals and tissues.
It also appears on pink circulars used in Neighborhood Association and Neighborhood Associations.
Meisu Ikun
"Election Meisukun" was born in April 2000 as an image character of a bright election.
Meisukun has a ballot box motif, and the two vertical lines on the head are ballot paper insertions. It represents your mouth.
And they have wings on their backs to achieve a bright election.
The name "Meisui" quotes "Mei" and "Shu" of the "Bright Election Promotion Campaign".

On Friday, November 3, 2023, we exhibited the Meishokyo booth at the inhabitant of a ward festival held at Higashitotsuka Elementary School!

On the day, a wide range of generations, from children to the elderly, came to the event, and it was very lively!
We create educational videos and exhibit election booths at local university festivals. For a wide range of generations, including young people, we will carry out a business that will make the election feel closer.

On Saturday, November 4, 2023, we exhibited an election awareness booth at the university festival of Shonan Medical University, which has a campus in Totsuka Ward.
