Kurata District Town Development Plan

About town development of Kurata district, we devised "town" which we should aim at and devised "Kurata district town development plan" which gathered concrete measures for the realization.
This plan was drafted at the Kurata District Town Development Study Group and the ward office, and was finalized while receiving opinions from the residents, and distributed to all units in the district in January 2003.

The town development shown in the plan is not something that is promised to be realized. For realization of this plan, it is important that everyone in the district and the ward office play their respective roles, and work together to promote town development.

• Overview of Plan

1. Issues in Districts
   Based on opinions given at study meetings, etc., we arranged issues for town development.
   （１） Widening of the Prefectural Road Ofuna Stop Yabe Line
   （２） Development of new arterial roads
   （３） Alleviating traffic congestion around Totsuka Station East Exit
   （４） conservation of the Kashio River
   （５） Activation of park use
   （６） Activation of exchange among residents
2. The shape of the "town" that the district aims for
   Based on the issues of the district, we have set goals for town development to be pursued.
   （１） "Town" with a well-organized transportation system
   （２） "Town" that brings up the assets of the district
   （３） "Towns" that support each other through exchanges and activities
3. Direction of Community Development Initiatives
   Specific initiatives to achieve these goals are shown.

   （１） To make it a "town" with a well-organized transportation system

   ・Widening of the Prefectural Road Ofuna Stop Yabe Line
   ・Development of new arterial roads
   ・Improvement of traffic congestion around Totsuka Station East Exit
   ・Widening of narrow roads less than 4m

   （２） To make the most of the district's assets and nurture

   ・Promotion of the creation of attractive Kashio River
   ・Promotion of the creation of parks to be utilized

   （３） To create a "town" that supports each other through exchanges and activities

   ・Development of exchange bases
   ・Promotion of supportive exchanges

4. Toward the Realization of Community Development
   Aiming at realization of plan, we raise role allotment that district and ward office work on.

   （１） Formulation of plan

   ・Formulation of a plan is the first step in town development.
   ・We will share plans in the district and promote community development.

   （２） Practice of Community Development

   ・We will promote community development by making use of the plans we have formulated together.
   ・Let's check the progress of town development.
   ・We will review the plan in line with changes in the “town”.
