The mayors of three ordinance-designated cities in the prefecture (Yokohama, Kawasaki, and Sagamihara) and the main and vice-chairs of the city council met at the Kawasaki City Hall and talked about the theme of a new metropolis system "Special City".
Actively exchanged opinions on the necessity of a special city with a view to Japan's future and the importance of legislation to provide options for citizens, and the three cities will further strengthen cooperation and work toward early legislation. We sent a joint message to accelerate our efforts.
Going forward, in cooperation with government-designated cities nationwide, we will make every effort to establish special cities as soon as possible.
