Currently, Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd., which has been selected by a business recruitment, is implementing a PPA business (*) to introduce solar power generation facilities and storage batteries for 65 elementary and junior high schools in the city. At the Nakagawanishi Elementary School (Tsuzuki Ward  ), one of the schools, environmental education utilizing the facilities installed, was conducted to observe the situation and exchanged opinions with the elementary school studenｔ. I was surprised at the high level of interest in global warming, and I felt very dependable. In the future, Yokohama City will continue to take the initiative in promoting various initiatives toward decarbonization by 2050.

※ What is the power purchase agreement (PPA)?
A contract in which a facility installation company (PPA operator) installs solar power generation facilities in the facility, and the facility side purchases electricity generated by the equipment. Since the facility does not own the equipment, it is possible to use renewable energy electricity without having to pay the initial cost or maintaining the equipment.
