Consumer Affairs Committee and Children's Committee

The role of "connection" in a community where you can rely on small awareness and snuggle up

Last Updated October 31, 2024

What are the Consumer Affairs Committee and Children's Committee?

  • The Consumer Affairs Committee is a part-time, specially appointed local government employee commissioned by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare based on the Consumer Affairs Committee Act.
  • There is no salary, and I am working as a volunteer. In the area in charge, we respond to various consultations on the lives of residents and play a role as a "bridge" to appropriate support and services, including the government. In addition, the Child Welfare Law stipulates that local welfare officers also serve as children's committees.
  • There are about 400 local welfare and children's committees in Kohoku Ward.

What is the Chief Children's Committee?

  • The Chief Children's Committee is a local welfare officer and children's committee who specialize in support for children and child care.
  • We communicate and coordinate with related organizations such as schools and children's guidance office, conduct salon activities for parents and children in the community, and participate in baby associations organized by ward offices.
  • Of the approximately 400 members of the Kohoku Ward Consumer Affairs Committee and Children's Committee, 46 members. ※I am working as a chief children's committee. ※As of December 1, 2022
