Eight Views of Kanazawa
Kanazawa, which prospered as an outer port of Kamakura in the Middle Ages, has a beautiful landscape woven by mountains and the sea, attracts people, and the poets and monks who visit write their beauty in waka and Chinese poems.
"Kanazawa Hakkei" is an application of the eight wins in Kanazawa, and in 1694 (1694), the Mei monk Shingoshizen compared the view of Kanazawa from Nomi-do to the Chinese Shosho Hakkei. It is reported that it was named.
Hiroshige Utagawa, famous as an ukiyo-e artist, also depicts the scenery of Kanazawa's Hakkei one by one around 1836 (1836), and the Kinryuin version is the most representative work among the ukiyo-e paintings of Kanazawa Hakkei.

New Kanazawa Hakkei
Because Kanazawa Hakkei had almost lost its features at that time, in 2008, the 60th anniversary of the ward administration, the Heisei “Shin Kanazawa Hakkei” was decided by a ward vote. As development progresses, the scenery seen in the past and the past is significantly different, but there are still many beautiful scenes.
