What's the best thing in Kanagawa?
In order to preserve, protect, and pass on the unique charm of Kanagawa Ward and unique to Kanagawa Ward to the next generation, the 150th anniversary of the opening of Yokohama's opening, this comprehensive collection of attractive resources from various fields, including nature, culture, history, lifestyle and industry. In 2008-21, it was approved by the Kanagawa Ward Asset System Promotion Committee, which consists of inhabitants of a ward, businesses, and the government, as well as the results of applications and popularity voting by residents of the ward. Taro Kame walking guide de general election (conducted in 2017)
As a project commemorating the 90th anniversary of the constituency system, we held a popular vote for "My town Kanagawa special" in 2017.
- Voting period: July 24, 2017 to September 18, 2017 (57 days)
- Total number of votes: 4,522 votes (total of 4 divisions)
Nature & Landscape Division
No. 1 Kougaya Park 106 votes
A great night view spot for cherry blossoms. During the Warring States period, it became the stage of "Gongenyama Battle".
Since the end of the Tokugawa period, steep mountains have been cut off to reclaim Kanagawa Daiba and railway land.
・Living & Culture Division
1st place Urashima Legend 180 votes
According to a legend from the ward, Taro Urashima learned that his parents had died on his way home from Ryugu Castle.
It is said that he arrived at the peak of Shirohata, where his parents' grave is located, and became a guardian deity of the people with Otohime while protecting the tomb.
Living & Culture Division

History Division
No. 1 Tokaido Kami Nagawa-juku 133 votes
During the Edo period, the Tokaido was developed, and the third post town from Nihonbashi, Tokaido Kami Nagawa-juku, was established.
As a result, it prospered as a key point for land transportation such as Tokaido and Kanagawa Roads.

Kame Taro Town Boasting Newspaper Contest (conducted from FY2018 to FY4)
From 2018, a newspaper contest was held to convey the appeal of Kanagawa Ward for elementary school students living and studying in the city.
The purpose of this contest is for elementary school students to rediscover the various attractions of the ward, both inside and outside the school district, and to raise interest in the community by creating handmade newspapers.
