Initiatives at the Kanagawa Ward Office
Last update date February 2, 2024
I would like to introduce the activities of the Kanagawa Ward Government Building.
Installation of photovoltaic panels
On the roof of the annex of the Kanagawa Ward General Government Building, we installed a solar power generation system that uses sunlight. (March 2008)
Solar power generation uses solar cells to directly convert the energy of sunlight into electricity, so CO2 (carbon dioxide), SOX (sulfur oxides), NOX (nitrogen oxides), and NOX (nitrogen oxides) that cause global warming. It is a clean energy source that does not discharge.
With this system, about 11.4 tons of carbon dioxide that can reduce emissions in one year, which is equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide that approximately 2.6 hectares of forests treat in one year.
As the power generation situation is displayed on monitor which we installed in ward Government building annex the first floor inhabitant of a ward hall, please see by all means when you come to ward office.
Panels installed on the roof
Type: Polycrystalline silicon solar cells
Number of power generation panels: 168 sheets
Rated output: 30 kilowatts (kW), annual power generation: Approx. 30,000 kilowatt hours (kWh)
