We work every day as a "familiar consultant" on welfare in the community.

The local welfare officer is a part-time local government employee and also serves as a children's committee. He works with the spirit of community service and has a term of three years (reappointment is possible). Candidates by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, recommended by representatives of the Neighborhood Associations Neighborhood Association and others who meet the requirements stipulated in the Consumer Affairs Committee Act, will be commissioned by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare after certain procedures. ※Below, it is described as a member of the Consumer Affairs Committee.

As a member of the local residents, the local welfare committee members also provide various consultations, such as worries about medical care and nursing care, concerns about pregnancy and child care, and concerns about living due to unemployment and financial distress. Depending on the content of the consultation, it will be a link with a local specialized organization so that you can receive the necessary support. Since there is a duty of confidentiality, we will keep the confidentiality of the consultation contents.

The Chief Children's Committee is a public welfare committee member who specializes in supporting children. In response to various consultations regarding child welfare, we work with schools and children's guidance office to foster healthy children.

Kanagawa Ward has 18 local welfare officers and children's committees, which are engaged in various initiatives to create a town where local residents can live with peace of mind.

In Yokohama City, there are one in 200 to 440 households, and the chief children's committee is two in principle for each district welfare committee children's committee meeting.

The Kanagawa Ward Consumer Affairs Committee Children's Committee also carries out the following activities in addition to daily activities and children's committees.

[Overall Training Workshop]
As part of deepening our understanding of welfare, we hold a general workshop for all local welfare officers and children's committees in the city once a year.

[Exchange meeting]
For the purpose of strengthening cooperation between local welfare officers and children's committees, we hold exchange meetings once a year for all local welfare officers and children's committees in the city.

[Inhabitant of a ward festival]
For the purpose of raising awareness of the Child Abuse Prevention Orange Ribbon Campaign, we open a store at the Kanagawa Residents' Festival held in October every year.
