Izumi Ward's Traditional Culture Yokohama Izumi Kabuki Preservation Society

As part of the 10th anniversary of the constituency system in 1996, Taisho launched "Izumi Kabuki" in an attempt to inherit the achievements of "Ichikawa Hana Juro Ichiza," who played an active part in the early Showa era.
The association was established in December 1995 and started operation by more than 50 inhabitants of a ward.
Since then, in order to preserve, pass on and spread Izumi Kabuki, we have performed every October and have been conducting activities such as teaching Kabuki to elementary schools.
In 2017, the name was changed to "Yokohama Izumi Kabuki Preservation Society" and decided to expand its activities more widely.

This year's 27th "Yokohama Izumi Kabuki Performance" was held.
Actors wearing professional props and wigs, and handmade props are required.
