Toilet measures in the event of a disaster
When a large-scale disaster such as an earthquake occurs, plumbing in water and sewage and buildings may be damaged. If the piping is damaged, the water supply will not be usable and the toilet will not be available. Toilet measures are as important as well as stockpiling for eating and drinking, so let's proceed with measures such as stockpiling toilet packs.

Isogo Ward Office Measures
In the event of an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 5 or more, the Isogo Ward Office will inspect the pipes, etc., and prohibit the use of toilets with water washing until it can be confirmed that there is no abnormality. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Yokohama City has developed temporary toilet (commonly known as Hamakko toilet for disasters), mainly in evacuation shelter, as a countermeasure against toilets in the event of an earthquake. In Isogo Ward, along with 21 evacuation shelter, the Isogo Ward Office also has a toilet for disaster use.

Isogo Ward Office Operation Guidelines
At the Isogo Ward Office, ward office staff will install it when a large-scale disaster occurs and it is deemed necessary to install a Hamakko toilet for a disaster. The location is on the ground parking lot on the premises of the ward office.
