This project is aimed at 5th and 6th graders in Municipal Elementary Schools (24 schools) in Asahi Ward and participates in welfare activities and community activities.

Every May, the local welfare committee members ask Municipal Elementary Schools in the ward to recruit junior volunteers, and ask each school to organize them.
It is an opportunity to learn about "welfare" and "volunteers" through various activities, and to nurture the "caring" and "gratitude" of everyone who participated. .

This project has been implemented since 2000 by the Asahi Ward Consumer Affairs Committee Children's Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Minjikyo”). In December 2013, Asahi Ward received the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Award for its contribution to the creation of local communities.

In addition, activities are carried out throughout the region with the cooperation of elementary schools, Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Associations, the Japan National Council of Social Welfare (hereinafter referred to as the "District Shakyo") and welfare facilities.

Participation in welfare and community activities

We participate in local "welfare activities" and "local activities" planned by each district children's association together with local welfare officers and chief children's committees.

An inauguration ceremony will be held for junior volunteers with the aim of deepening their understanding and interest in activities.
In fiscal 2023, the event was held at Asahi public hall on Tuesday, August 1. Junior volunteers, local welfare officers, and school officials participated in the event, and the Director General presented a prize for participation in the representative elementary school student.

In fiscal 2023, the event was held at Asahi public hall on Sunday, December 3.

Publishing a collection of experiences impressions


Here is the thoughts of the junior volunteers who grew up through their activities.

The valuable experiences of working as junior volunteers will be compiled as a "Experience Impressions Collection" and distributed to junior volunteers, local welfare officers, school officials, district associations, and local communities.
