From January 2023, Yokohama City has installed a CO2 monitor that can measure carbon dioxide concentration so that effective ventilation can be performed in all classes at all municipal schools. In order to observe the installation status of the monitor, we visited Honmachi Elementary School (Naka Ward) from the first hour of school. There were also classes using CO2 monitors in the classroom, and children were able to see how the children learned about the relationship between illness and ventilation.
We will continue to use CO2 monitors to visualize the air, which will lead to a safe and secure school environment.
