What is Tuberculosis?
It is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
By inhaling the tuberculosis bacteria contained in coughs and sneezing, you can get transmitted.
If symptoms such as cough, sputum, fever, or sluggishness persist for more than 2 weeks, go to the hospital.

If tuberculosis is diagnosed
Tuberculosis is a disease that can be cured by medicine. Take multiple medicines every day for about 6 to 9 months.
Even if the symptoms disappear, take the medicine until the specified date.
There is a system to support money for the treatment of tuberculosis.

To prevent tuberculosis
Have a chest x-ray once a year. Be sure to go to the hospital if your chest X-ray is told that you may be sick.
Chest X-ray examination for foreigners (free of charge)
Yokohama City conducts chest x-ray examinations for foreigners. Testing is free.
A person who can test
People over 16 years old (people living in Yokohama City) born in a country with many tuberculosis patients
A person who cannot be tested
・A person who has a cough or sputum. A person with a fever of 37.5°C or higher. A person with a chest pain
・A person undergoing chest X-ray examination at the company or school physical checkup
・A person who had a chest x-ray examination within three months
Inspection Flow
1. Go to the ward office, Health and Welfare Division Health Promotion Section and make an appointment for a chest x-ray.
2. I'll go to the inspection site.
3. Have a chest x-ray examination.
4. The result will be sent by mail.

Tuberculosis patients and their families can consult with Health and Welfare Division Health Promotion Section, the ward office in which they live.
If you are diagnosed with tuberculosis, please contact me.
If you have any concerns about tuberculosis, you can consult.
Consultation is free of charge.
