Subway transportation staff

Last Updated January 14, 2022

Every day, about 650,000 passengers get on and off every day at the station.
While protecting the safety of each and every one of them
It is the cooperation of station clerks and drivers to deliver to the destination comfortably.
At the front line of the platform, at 80 km/h.
The work that works for our customers is worthwhile, as much as they are responsible.
No matter how railway evolves, it is still human power to move trains and stations.

What is Subway Transportation Staff?

Subway transportation staff are responsible for station guidance services, home monitoring, and sales management as station clerks at Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line and Green Line stations.
They are the first staff members who interact with each other and play an important role as the "face of the subway".
After working for a certain period of time, the way to become a subway driver is also open.

①Station guidance services where knowledge is required

As a concierge of the station, you will be responsible for transfer guidance, peripheral guidance, lost items, and on-site announcement work at the counter and ticket gate.
What is required is not only a wealth of knowledge but also customer service ability to be friendly. Yokohama has many foreign customers, and you can also use your language skills.

②Reorganization of platforms to protect passenger safety

At the forefront of the platform, we pay close attention to customer movements and the safety of the tracks, and support the operation without accidents and delays.
Concentration and teamwork are required to ensure that you ride without trouble during rush hours.

③Administrative operations such as sales management

The collection of proceeds from automatic ticket vending machines, etc., and the management of various tickets are also important daily tasks.
We will work to ensure that there is no error of 1 yen because it is an important fare received from customers.

④Helping customers with disabilities

Some of the customers who use the subway are physically handicapped.
It is also the duty of the station clerk to provide assistance so that you can get on and off smoothly.

⑤Touring and beautification activities at station facilities

In addition to patrol the station building to check the equipment, we also check for suspicious objects and garbage.
This is an essential task to ensure safe and comfortable use of the station.
