Subway maintenance engineer (electricity)
Last Updated February 7, 2023
What is a subway maintenance technician (electricity)?
All trains operate for the first time when various systems operate normally for 24 hours. That's why it is essential to work as a subway maintenance technician (electricity) who maintains the electricity at substation is appropriate, the signal communication system is normal, and each equipment is maintained.
In City of Yokohama, Transportation Bureau, the company has a power hanging in charge of power facilities for overhead lines and substations, and a signaling in charge of operating systems such as signals, wireless and communications. We support safe operation through the cooperation of two hooks.
①“Stable power supply to overhead lines and station buildings” - Maintenance of power equipment (power charge)
Electricity transmitted from the power plant cannot be used on trains or stations with the same voltage. It is converted to the optimal voltage at the substations, but it is necessary to maintain all power facilities, from managing the substations to managing the overhead lines required for train driving. Keep an eye on the equipment and run immediately in case of abnormality.
②Inspection and repair of electrical equipment that supports "comfortable stations" (electric power charge)
Lighting illuminates the station building and elevators and escalators move because electricity is supplied normally. In order to supply stable power to all electrical equipment within such stations, we will conduct daily inspections and repairs.
③“Necessity of Safety Operation” Maintenance of signal security equipment (signal communication hanging)
The key to preventing train collisions and operating the subway safely as scheduled is the signal security equipment. We support various equipment essential for safe operation, such as signal systems that are responsible for one-man operation support, speed management, and "points" for switching tracks.
④Maintenance of communication equipment essential for the provision and collection of information (signal communication hanging)
The subway is equipped with a wide variety of communication equipment, from the general order room to telephones and radios that issue commands to stations and trains, as well as broadcasting equipment that provides a variety of information to customers. Inspect and repair these communication equipment to maintain a normal state.
