How to ride in a wheelchair

Last update date April 11, 2023

Wheelchair pictogram

Municipal buses have introduced bus vehicles equipped with slope boards on the middle doors so that wheelchair customers can use them on all route buses in the city.

For customers who use municipal buses in wheelchairs

Thank you very much for using the Yokohama Municipal Bus.
As a general rule, you can get on and off at any bus stop, but there are some places that cannot be accommodated due to physical conditions.
Please refrain from getting on and off with a wheelchair in the following places.

●When the bus stop is on a steep slope
This is because the vehicle is inclined and the slope plate cannot be installed stably, and there is a risk that wheelchair customers may fall and be injured due to the slope.
●When the road width is narrow
This is because it is not possible to install the slope plate necessary for getting on and off.
In addition, at some bus terminals, etc., the curve of the platform is tight and it is difficult for the bus vehicle to approach the platform, so you may be required to get on at the drop-off location. (Yokodai Station, Konandai Station, etc.)

※If you have any questions, please contact your local sales office.

Please get on from the middle door.

After bouncing the seat and setting the slope plate, the crew will speak out, so please get on from the middle door.

I'll fix the wheelchair with a belt.

The crew will fix the wheelchair with a belt. I'd like the tire lock on the wheelchair.
