The Yokohama City General disaster drill was held with the aim of strengthening cooperation among citizens, city officials, and related organizations and improving local disaster prevention and disaster response capabilities.
Many citizens and related organizations participated in the training assuming that an earthquake with a seismic intensity of 8.1 in magnitude with the epicenter of Sagami Bay and a maximum seismic intensity of 7 in the city caused collapse of houses and damage to public utilities.
In the event of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to assume a combined disaster with natural disasters.
Yokohama City will continue to anticipate any situation and work closely with various actors to work on protecting the safety and security of citizens.
