Dr. Carim and Mrs. Weiss and Mrs. Mertz of Carter Center on behalf of the Guinea Disease Eradication Program, the winners of the 4th Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize, an event related to TICAD8.
The winners commented on the content of their research and activities, the importance of young people taking on challenges without fear of failure, and the importance of improving women's social status as a countermeasure against infectious diseases. We also shared the perspective of COVID-19 in Yokohama, and we were able to actively exchange opinions on the importance of a medical approach based on data science.
