Outline of extension of Route 3

Last Updated January 11, 2022

The extension of the High-Speed Rail Line 3 is positioned in Report No. 198 (April 2016) of the Transport Policy Council, an advisory body of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. We pushed forward consensus building about business plan of extension and decided commercialization as Yokohama-shi in January, 2019.
After that, briefings were held and opinions were solicited, and in January 2020, the outline route and station location were determined.
In the future, with the aim of opening the business in 2030, the target year of the Transport Policy Council report, we aim to start the business early through procedures such as environmental impact assessment, city planning, and the Railway Business Law.
