High-speed railway business

Overview of Business

The subway plays an important role as a foundation for vibrant urban development, connecting the city center and the subcenter, and supporting the activities of approximately 580,000 citizens a day (fiscal 2022 financial results).
The Blue Line (Yokohama City High Speed Rail Route 1.3), which runs along the city area, has steadily grown since its opening in December 1972, and is now 40.4 km in length between Azamino and Shonandai. It forms a wide-area transportation network while cooperating with nearby railways, and plays a major role in the development of the area along the railway as a core transportation of Yokohama.
In March 2008, the Green Line (Yokohama High Speed Rail Route 4), which runs east and west in the northern part of Yokohama, opened. This route connects Nakayama Station to Center Minami Station and Center-Kita Station on the Blue Line, connecting 13 km to Hiyoshi Station, dramatically improving access to central Tokyo and Yokohama.
In addition, the rapid operation started on the blue line in July 2015 shortens the time required between major stations, improving access to suburban areas such as the northern and southwest areas centering on Kohoku New Town and the center of Yokohama. Has contributed to the further integration and balanced development of the city area.
