100 Steps

We will report on the "sites" of municipal transportation, such as bus and subway operation, station and vehicle maintenance, from the staff's point of view. The first step we have been doing for 100 years. And a lot of small steps to shape the future. I would like to tell you about these steps as "100 Steps".

The “100 Steps” that conveys the efforts of Yokohama Municipal Transportation and the thoughts of it.
This time, we will report from the Building Division, which is working on renovation and improvement of the station, aiming for a comfortable station space so that customers can use the subway more comfortably.

Isezaki-Chojamachi Station before the renovation was dim, but after the renovation, it became bright and odorless and became available comfortably.
One of the concepts of improvement is "barrier-free".
Rather than creating multifunctional toilets with concentrated functions, the functions were distributed by installing priority toilets for wheelchair users, booths with ostomate equipment for each man and woman, and a wide booth where strollers could be brought in. .
In addition, steps have been eliminated, making it easier for more people to use.

        Booths equipped with ostomate functions are installed in general toilets.


The site supervisor was also in charge of female mechanical staff.
It has been renovated so that you can feel not only hygiene such as "smell" and "clean", but also "brightness" and "convenience".
In addition, we have implemented measures such as adjusting the hardness when opening and closing baby chairs so that customers can use it safely and conveniently.
