How to separate and dispose of garbage and recyclables
burnable garbage
Kitchen garbage, plastic products such as toys and CDs, home appliances (such as dryer irons) of less than 50 cm, which is mainly made of plastic, dirty paper, and disposable diapers (filth is flushed into toilets).
Put it in a transparent or translucent bag.
non-burnable garbage
Ceramics, glass, fluorescent lamp, light bulb, etc.
Wrap it in a box or newspaper when you bought it, write the name inside on paper and paste it before taking it out.
Spray cans
Spray cans such as hair sprays, insecticide, cartridge type gas cylinder, etc. You don't have to make a hole.
Put it in a transparent or translucent bag.
Remove the plastic cap and take it out as a plastic container or packaging.
Batteries
Dry batteries (manganese / alkali), lithium primary batteries, coin batteries (model CR/BR)
Put it in a transparent or translucent bag.
button batteries, rechargeable batteries (rechargeable batteries), and batteries are not available. Please take it to the "collection cooperating store" or "dealer".
If you are not sure, please consult your dealer or Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau office with someone who understands Japanese.
Plastic containers and packaging
Items that contain or wrap products and are labeled.
Shampoo / detergent bottles, trays for fresh foods and prepared foods, plastic bottles containing oil items, etc.
Use up the contents, rinse the inside, and put it out in a transparent or translucent bag.
Plastic products such as CDs, toys, washbasins, and tubes for home medical care should be taken out to burnable garbage.
Do not put foreign substances such as lighters and food residues, as they may interfere with recycling.
Cans, bottles, PET bottles
Cans and glass bottles containing food and drinks
PET bottles containing drinks, sake, vinegar, mirin, soy sauce, dressing-type seasonings (non-oil), etc.
Rinse the inside and put it out in a transparent or translucent bag.
Cosmetics and chemicals (excluding medications) should be taken out as non-burnable garbage.
Put the paint cans out as small metal with the inside.
Small metal
Metal products less than 30cm, such as pans, frying pans, rice cooker inner pot of rice cooker (measured pans, frying pans, etc. by diameter without taking handles), bulk bones
Metal products with the longest side of 30 cm or more, go to oversized garbage (the bulk bones can be served at least 30 cm).
Except for fine items such as spoons, do not put them in a bag.
recycle paper
Paper packs of newspapers, magazines and other papers, cardboard, milk, etc.
Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, and paper packs should be separated, aligned in size and tied. Put other paper in a paper bag (if not, a transparent or translucent bag) and tie it with a string so that the contents do not come out.
used cloth
Used clothes, handkerchiefs, towels, blankets, curtains, etc.
Wash and dry before putting it in a transparent or translucent bag.
Dirty or torn items should be taken out as burnable garbage.
I can't put it out on rainy days.
oversized garbage (paid, pre-registration required)
Metal products with the longest side of 30 cm or more, and others (plastic products, wood products, etc.) that are 50 cm or more.

What is not collected in the city
Air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, clothes dryers, personal computers, etc. cannot be picked up in Yokohama City.
