How to separate and dispose of garbage and recyclables
burnable garbage
Kitchen garbage, plastic products such as toys and CDs, mainly plastic home appliances less than 50 cm (dryers, irons, etc.), dirty paper, disposable diapers (filth is flushed into the toilet).
Put it in a transparent or translucent bag.
non-burnable garbage
Ceramics, glass, fluorescent lamp, light bulbs, etc.
Wrap it in a box or newspaper when you bought it, write the name of the item inside on paper and paste it before taking it out.
Spray can
Spray cans such as hair sprays, insecticide, cartridge gas cylinders, etc. You don't have to make a hole.
Put it in a transparent or translucent bag.
Remove the plastic cap and take it out as a plastic container.
Dry batteries
Dry batteries (manganese / alkali), lithium primary batteries, coin batteries (model CR / BR)
Put it in a transparent or translucent bag.
button batteries, rechargeable battery (rechargeable battery) and battery cannot be released. Take it to a "collection cooperating store" or "dealer".
If you are not sure, please consult with your dealer or Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau office with someone who speaks Japanese.
Plastic containers and packaging
Items that contain or wrap products and are labeled.
Shampoo / detergent bottles, fresh food / side dish trays, plastic bottles containing oil, etc.
Use up the contents, rinse the inside, and put them in a transparent or translucent bag.
Please put plastic products such as CDs, toys, washbasins and tubes for home medical care in burnable garbage.
Do not put foreign substances such as lighters and food residues, as they may interfere with recycling.
Cans, bottles, PET bottles
Cans and glass bottles containing food and drinks
PET bottles with a label containing drinks, sake, vinegar, mirin, soy sauce, dressing-type seasonings (non-oil), etc.
Rinse the inside and put it in a transparent or translucent bag.
Please put out bottles of cosmetics and chemicals (excluding medicine) as non-burnable garbage.
Put the paint can through the inside and take it out as small metal.
Small metals
Metal products less than 30 cm, such as pans, frying pans, rice cookers' inner pots (pans, frying pans, etc. are measured by diameter without including handles), bulk bones
Metal products with the longest side of 30 cm or more should go to oversized garbage.
Except for small items such as spoons, please take them out without putting them in a bag.
recycle paper
Paper packs of newspapers, magazines and other paper, cardboard, milk, etc.
Separate newspapers, magazines, cardboard, and paper packs, and tie them with strings in size. Put other paper in a paper bag (or a transparent or translucent bag if not available) and tie it with a string to prevent the contents from coming out.
used cloth
Used clothes, handkerchiefs, towels, blankets, curtains, etc.
Wash and dry before putting it in a transparent or translucent bag.
Please put out dirty or broken items as burnable garbage.
I can't put it out on rainy days.
oversized garbage (paid, advance application required)
Metal products with the longest side of 30 cm or more, others (plastic products, wood products, etc.) with a length of 50 cm or more.

What is not collected in the city
Air conditioners, televisions, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, clothes dryers, personal computers, etc. cannot be picked up in Yokohama City.
