Incentive programs for environmentally friendly vessels

In order to promote the Port of Yokohama's environmental initiatives both domestically and internationally, and to strengthen its international competitiveness, an incentive program has been in place since April 2009 to promote port calls by environmentally friendly vessels.

1 Entrance fees for LNG fueled vessels and LNG bunkering vessels will be exempted.
2 Reduce or exempt the quay usage fees for LNG bunkering vessels.
3 Entrance fees for ocean-going vessels that meet any of the following criteria will discounted:
・Ocean-going ships that have participated in the Environmental Ship Index (ESI) program operated by the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) or the Green Award Foundation ("GA")and that exceed a certain ESI index, which quantifies the level of emissions
・Ocean-going vessels certified by the Green Award Foundation
