International Exchange between German Academy and Tsuzuki Ward
On June 2, 2018 (Saturday), a summer festival (Summer Festival 2018) was held in Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama, located in the city. The kindergarten department requested the Resources and Waste Recycling Bureau Tsuzuki office and Regional Promotion Division Tsuzuki Ward to cooperate with the exhibition.
German school is widely known as a German school overseas, and there are students from about 20 countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Japan. Classes are internationally rich in German, but recently students have visited garbage collection offices and incineration plants to visit garbage collection offices and incineration plants to deepen local exchanges on the theme of environmental issues. .
At the event, in addition to the outdoor booth exhibition, there was also a learning report session in the auditorium, where the children visited the Green Resource Sorting Center and the cleaning activities in the neighborhood were screened as videos, and were dumped in the ocean. The problem of plastic waste that was being dumped was shown through drama. In addition, I felt the importance of deepening international understanding in the atmosphere unique to Germany Gakuen, which is surrounded by applause and cheers, such as what would happen if garbage is dumped illegally, the importance of recycling, and the recycling fashion show.
For the exhibition, we made preparations to deepen exchanges with the students of Germany Gakuen, such as making the garbage collection by category brochure (in German) as posters, making the separation quoits game into German, and the staff learned German such as Trennung and Papier.
Not all preparations were perfect, but I think we were able to convey our message that we wanted to value the global environment and to cooperate in separating and recycling garbage.
Tsuzuki Ward will continue to deepen international exchange with German schools on the theme of environmental learning.
