I want to know the boundary between Public Works Office roads and waterways (boundary survey)

Public Works Office conducts boundary surveys to clarify the boundaries between roads and waterways. Boundary survey is to clarify the boundaries between roads, rivers, waterways, etc. managed by Yokohama City and the land in contact with them.
When person who owns land in contact with road and waterway needs boundary investigation, by application from the person concerned, related landowner and Yokohama-shi will discuss witness by application from that person.
When this witness consultation is established, the boundary is determined, and a boundary mark is set up and a boundary survey map is created. Boundary survey maps can be used for buying and selling land, land area correction, writing brushes, etc.
There are two types of boundary surveys: boundary identification that determines the boundary with the roadway and waterway, and boundary restoration that restores when the boundary of the point where the survey was conducted is lost and unknown.
*Before applying, please check in Public Works Office for documents related to boundaries, such as boundary survey maps and road ledgers.
*We do not conduct boundary surveys between private land and private land.

Flow of boundary survey application

1 Application for boundary survey

When boundary investigation is necessary, please submit the following documents to city (Public Works Office).
1. Boundary survey application such as road boundaries (to application download page)
2. A copy of the land registry or an entry summary
Application lot number issued within three months. At the time of application, it confirms that the applicant is the current owner.
3. Copy of official map
Copied within 3 months by the Legal Affairs Bureau. Please indicate the application form with a red line.
4. Guide map
5. Power of Attorney (in the case of proxy application)
6. Consentregistration form
In order to facilitate the on-site witness discussions on the border, the applicant will explain the purpose of the boundary survey to the owner of the adjacent land before applying and obtain the consent of the witness. This is to confirm that you can attend the meeting, and does not agree to the boundaries.
-What is the owner of an adjacent land?
People who own land in contact with roads and waterways of the application site (next to each of the three houses).

2 Surveys

In city which accepted application, we perform document investigation, field investigation.

3 Attendance notice

We will notify you of the date and time of the witness, location, etc. (The witness date and time will be decided in the city because it is difficult to select a convenient day for all those who need to be present in order to proceed with the work. Thank you for your cooperation.)

4 Witness discussions

At the site, discussions will be held on the boundaries with roads and waterways will be established, and the boundaries will be determinedseal. If the consultation is not established, the boundaries with roads and waterways will not be determined.

5 Creation of boundary survey map, etc.

When boundary is decided, we install boundary mark which city establishes and make boundary investigation figure. If you need a copy of the boundary survey map, please apply to the Public Works Office of each ward.
