Assistance for school supplies

Yokohama City has a system to assist children with school supplies for elementary, middle and compulsory education.
■Subsidies for School Expenses System
We provide assistance to those who go to Yokohama City elementary and junior high schools and receive Child Raising Allowance and those who have financial difficulties in their entire household's income below the limit. The assistance includes school supplies, school trips, school lunches, etc.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         If you wish, please apply to your child's school with the necessary documents attached to the "Subsidies for School Expenses Application Form" attached to the "Subsidies for School Expenses System Notice" distributed at your child's school in April.
■About private schools and other enrollment incentive system
Those who live in Yokohama City and whose children go to private or national or prefectural (including outside the city) or whose child is a foreign national and prefectural (including outside the city) or whose child is a foreign national and prefectural (including outside the city) and whose income is below theChild Raising Allowance limit. Encouragement fees include school supplies, school trips, and lunch fees. If you wish, please attach the necessary documents to the application form distributed around July at your child's school and apply to your child's school.
■About the individual support class enrollment incentive system
If your child attends an individual support class at Yokohama Municipal Elementary and Junior High School, you can receive an incentive to reduce the financial burden. The contents of the incentive fee include school supplies, school lunch, school trip expenses, etc., but the contents vary depending on the household income.
Please read the notices distributed at the individual support class that your child attends and submit the necessary documents to your child's school.

High school enrollment support money

This is a system that provides enrollment support funds for tuition fees for students enrolled in high schools.
By receiving the payment, the burden of tuition will be reduced. In order to receive payment, you must meet the eligibility requirements. In addition, an application procedure is required, and you will need to submit documents through the high school you are attending.
Please contact your high school first for qualifications to receive the payment and the documents required for application.

This is a system that provides high school students with a monthly scholarship of 5,000 yen (60,000 yen per year). You do not need to return the money paid.
An application procedure is required to receive payment. The target is high school students whose parents live in Yokohama City, and the average rating of all subjects taken in the previous year of the year of application must be 3.50 or more on a five-point scale evaluation. If you do not meet the requirements, you will not be able to apply.
Applications can be made until the specified date once a year. Not all applicants will be able to receive payment, but within the fixed number of employees, they will be hired by those with strict households within the fixed number of employees.
In order to apply, you will need to have the high school you are attending prepare documents for recommendation. Please consult with the high school you are attending before applying.

Subsidies for Medical Expenses for Pediatric Treatment

 When a child who has Address in Yokohama and joins employee health insurance receives a medical institution due to illness or injury, this system subsidizes a portion of insurance medical treatment depending on their age.
 Expenses that are not covered by insurance medical treatment, such as differential beds during hospitalization, are not subsidized.
 We will give you Medical Certificate for infant to those who are eligible.
