What to do after a child is born?

If a child is born in Japan, you must submit a document that lets you know that your child was born to the Family Registry Division of thebirth registration form.

"Registration (Jumin Toroku)" and "Resident Status"

  • If you leave "birth registration form", you can register for your child. (If you want to know about resident registration, please see the page of "Resident Registration (Jumin Toroku) / resident certificate (Juminhyo)"
  • If both father and mother are foreigners (gaikokujin), the child born is longer than 60 days (Nichi) In order to be in Japan, you must be able to obtain a status of residence of your child.

Within 30 days from the date of birth, please go to the Immigration and Resident Management Bureau.

Insurance for when a child is sick or injured.

After leaving "birth registration form", as soon as possible, insurance for the child to get sick or injured.
When you enter the “National Health Insurance (Kokumin Kenkoken)” of Yokohama City, go to the Insurance and Pension Division of the ward office (Kuyakusho). I will have 1-3.
When you enter the "employee health insurance" such as a company, ask the company.

What is necessary when a born child enters the National Health Insurance (Kokuminkenkohoken)

1."Mother and Child Health Handbook" (Small Note that you get when a child is made)
2."Resident Card", "Passport", "My Number Card", "Driver License (Untenmenkyosho)" of the person who goes to the ward office

"Birth and Childbirth"

When a person (person) who is enrolled in Yokohama City's "National Health Insurance" (Yokohamas) gives birth to a child (ko) child (ko) It is money (Kane) received from "National Health Insurance". (If one child is born, 500,000 yen)
