Guidelines (guidelines)

Guidelines (Guidelines) for spraying pesticides in consideration of neighboring environments

This guideline stipulates matters to be considered for the nearby environment when spraying pesticides on farmland adjacent to or mixed with houses, etc., and to ensure that farmers and nearby residents protect them. We aim at realization of safe work and reliable civic life.
1.Matters that farmers want to protect when spraying pesticides
(1) Strive to minimize the scattering of pesticides.
(2) Protect the purpose, applied pesticides, number of times, and amount of use, and spray in an appropriate manner.
(3) Efforts will be made to reduce the number and amount of pesticide spraying.
(4) Efforts shall be made to inform local residents in advance.
(5) Record cultivation records and control records.
(6) We will strive to respond in good faith to the residents in order to gain an understanding of necessary agricultural work.
2.Matters to ask for cooperation from citizens
Neighboring residents will take voluntary measures and cooperate when farmers are notified of the spraying of pesticides.
3.Matters to be tackled by the government and agricultural cooperatives
In order to eliminate damage and anxiety of inhabitants by spraying pesticides, we will strive to provide guidance to farmers and promote them to citizens.

Precautions

Specific precautions for observing the guidelines (guidelines)

1.Specific precautions concerning prevention of pesticide scattering
(1) Spray at times when there is little effect on the neighborhood.
(2) Consider the weather and wind direction.
(3) Use pesticides with a shape that minimizes scattering as much as possible.
(4) Pay attention to the direction of the spray nozzle so that the pesticide scattering.
(5) Prevent scattering by installing anti-drug nets and hedges.
(6) Cultivate crops and varieties that are resistant to pests are cultivated so that the number of pesticide spraying is reduced.
(7) Immediately before spraying pesticides, pay attention to whether there are houses that have windows, futons, and laundry.
2.Other precautions related to pesticide spraying
(1) Farmers should ensure thorough health management, use of protective equipment, and store and manage pesticides in order to prevent accidents caused by pesticides.
(2) Farmers should actively promote the activities of agriculture in consideration of the local residents and the environment, and actively promote the contents of agricultural work, and communicate with the local residents to gain their understanding.
(3) Neighboring residents will be interested in agricultural information provided by farmers and deepen their understanding of urban agriculture and agricultural work and work to cooperate.
